Street Sweeping

Street Sweeping
Regular street sweeping plays an important role in keeping Glendale clean and safe. Sweepers remove leaves, litter, and debris from streets and gutters, helping prevent flooding, protecting water quality, and improving the appearance of our neighborhoods.

Keep Your Street Sweep-Ready
Follow these simple rules to ensure sweepers can clean your street effectively.

PLAN AHEAD FOR SWEEPING DAY
If your trash collection day falls immediately after your street sweeping day, do not place carts out before 2:00 p.m. the day prior. Placing your cart out early out may block sweeping vehicles.

FOLLOW PARKING SIGNS
Parking restrictions are enforced based on the posted day and time, even if the sweeper has already passed. Sweepers may return to complete a route or make additional passes.
For parking enforcement questions, visit Traffic & Parking or contact the Glendale Police Department at (866) 470-3088.
How You Can Help Keep
Streets Clean
Please help us maintain safe, clean streets by:
- Never piling, sweeping, or blowing leaves or debris into the street, alley, or gutter
- Keeping the street in front of your home dry on sweeping days (sweepers work best on dry pavement)
- Keeping palm fronds, large branches, and bulky yard waste out of the roadway
- Never pouring oil, antifreeze, paint, hazardous waste, or chemicals into the street, gutter, alley, or storm drain
Property Owner Responsibilities
Property owners are responsible for keeping sidewalks, parkways, gutters, and alleys adjacent to their property free of litter, weeds, debris, and overgrown vegetation. Review the Glendale Municipal Code here. If you see maintenance issues or have questions, call (818) 548-3916.
