City of Glendale Installs New Battery Recycling Truck Banners

May 12, 2026 —

As part of a wide effort to ensure proper and safe disposal of batteries by residents, the City of Glendale’s Integrated Waste Management installed new truck banners on their hauling vehicles.

Batteries should never be thrown in the trash due to its flammable nature and potential to start a fire in hauling vehicles. Instead, batteries should be dropped off at a Glendale fire station, where it will be safely managed. The banner features a QR code that leads residents to the Household Hazardous Waste facility, where hazardous waste, including batteries, are handled.
