Businesses in Glendale are required to maintain organics, recycling, and trash collection services through one of the City’s franchise haulers. Use the sections below to learn how collection works, identify your hauler, and access programs and requirements that apply to commercial properties.

Bulky Item Pickup

Businesses are serviced by one of Glendale’s City-franchised haulers. To schedule a bulky item pickup, contact your assigned hauler or work with a furniture donation service for reusable items.

Important: Leaving bulky items on the curb, sidewalk, alleyway, or anywhere on the property without arranging proper disposal is considered illegal dumping and may result in fines.

Commercial Waste Hauling

All waste haulers operating in Glendale must be permitted under Glendale Municipal Code 8.56.160. The City uses a franchise system for ongoing commercial collection; permitted non-franchise haulers may provide temporary service only, such as for construction and demolition projects.

Glendale Fire Department’s Small Quantity Generator Program

Businesses that generate small amounts of hazardous waste may use this program after acquiring a permit.

  • Contact the program manager at JavyGonzalez@GlendaleCA.gov to set up an account before dropping off any waste.
  • Service fees may apply depending on the materials and quantities accepted.
